South America

Two extensive bodies of work: “me parece” and “Contrapunto” were developed during my life/work in South America (1997-2001). They reflect my discoveries in the extremes of the Atacama Desert, the altiplano, the Andes, the rainforest and the Amazon basin. The works display strong botanical and organic themes, Although not always explicit, human history and presence are interwoven in the works, which are impressionistic in nature. I established personal and working relationships with local artists and exhibited (solo and group shows) my work in Chile and upon returning to Canada.
