Acrylic/Oil on canvas.
48 x 36 inches
In 2020 the Milne, Thwaites, and Pine Island ice shelves on Ellesmere Island broke free from Nunavut’s edge. Permafrost is melting; populations are devastated. Greenland’s Spalte glacier is disintegrating. Antarctic glaciers continue to dissemble, contributing to ever rising sea levels. With grief and trepidation I entered my art studio to create a 2020 polar scape shattered by reverberating fractures of ice, of land, of culture, of spirit.
